Prof. (Dr.) S. Srividhya
Consultant Psychologist, Psychotherapist, Mental Health Strategist
Dr. Srividhya holds a doctorate in psychology and brings over two decades of deep-rooted experience in counseling, psychotherapy, academic teaching, and institutional mental health strategy. Her clinical foundation was shaped through intensive training under a distinguished professor of clinical psychology, where she gained hands-on experience in conducting psychological assessments and managing a wide spectrum of cases — from neurosis to psychosis. This early exposure sharpened her ability to formulate tailored interventions rooted in clinical insight and individual psychopathology.
She has taught psychology to students from a wide range of disciplines — including engineering, law, architecture, hotel management, pharmacy, agriculture, and management studies. In alignment with AICTE guidelines, she played a pivotal role in introducing behavioral psychology as a non-credit course in technical institutions, preparing students to transition from campus to corporate life with enhanced emotional intelligence and life skills.
To promote institutional scalability, Dr. Srividhya led capacity-building programs training non-psychology faculty to deliver psychological concepts effectively across departments. She also serves as a Board of Studies member at SRM University for behavioral psychology, where she designed curriculum content and trained faculty members to ensure consistent, impactful delivery of psychological education across academic programs.
At the Indian Institute of Technology Madras, she implemented a 365-day, 24/7 onsite and online counseling model – an integrated triage system involving deans, peer buddies, and family support for suicide prevention and mental health crisis intervention. She conducted targeted sensitization sessions for faculty and students, helping address acclimatization challenges, reduce stigma, and foster an emotionally inclusive campus environment.
A certified hypnotherapist and multilingual practitioner, Dr. Srividhya is known for her culturally attuned, evidence-based interventions. Her mission is to build psychologically safe, emotionally intelligent institutions where students, faculty, and families co-create environments of well-being, resilience, and academic excellence.
